creative media Production HND

In late 2020, physically and mentally worn down from the global Covid-19 pandemic, I was seeking some direction and something to focus on. Following in the footsteps of my husband, I enrolled in higher education, beginning a degree level course in Creative Media Production at Wirral Metropolitan College on the Wirral, UK. The challenge was great and I soon found myself making the kinds of digital content that I had casually played at for a decade on YouTube. Filmmaking and video content creation has since become a passion. Here is some of my work…

We, the gaming industry

A documentary series that served as the very first assignment for my Higher National Diploma in Creative Media Production. I was tasked to create a short documentary on the subject of ‘Media Democratisation’ and chose to focus my investigation on how social media & YouTube content creation has effected the gaming industry.

I received my first “Distinction” grade for the project and short film, making it something that I will always be proud of making.

Motion Graphics Showreel - a brief History of Film

The culmination of an assignment learning about the creation and use of motion graphics within a film production. My second distinction level project.

showreel -

Editing for Film and Televison

The completed showreel of my edited video tasks for the Level 4 Editing unit, with a case study on Christopher Nolan’s editor Lee Smith. Distinction grade level.

Experimental Alternative soundtrack

As part of my Level 5 Advanced Editing unit, I was asked to experiment with how music can change the emotional impact of video footage. I recorded the title sequence of the video game “Resident Evil 7” on the PlayStation 4 and replaced the original score with a variety of different music genre samples obtained by Epidemic Sound.

The results were rather surprising!
